I don't know if it is just that one Qr code that was problematic? Sometimes it scanned in with a " " or "I", instead of an "i" character as it should be. I tried changing the orientation of the QR code to see if that was it, but most times it worked regardless of the orientation.
So it looks like thats where the problem was in the QR? I think you've narrowed down the problem very well. From what you wrote, it sounds like even in a case where the camera QR code scanner fails, if you were to type in the alphanumeric private key, it would succeed. That's very good news. It might be that the javascript library we use to read QR codes is buggy.
