Those that play BF 3, install Asrock Z77 Extreme 6. Don't buy ASUS cos only half the users come out wih working rigs. You can only use one software tool to access GPU settings at a time. After installing the Catalyst I'm now hoping the motherboard will force a reboot so I can get at it again: That is exactly what I mean. It doesn't even phase it from what I've seen so far. I haven't even gotten as far as testing out Eyefinity in a game since I've been busy trying to resolve the crashing issues. I called the retailer whom I got the card tested at and the tech isn't in so they don't know which driver revision was tested with it.
I just wish AMD had some documentation on what the behavior is supposed to be so I could, y'know, complain about it not doing that properly ;.
These cards have been a huge let down to me so far i hope they get them working right. I have to return this one today and try anther cause im getting blue screens and problems with windows starting sometimes Are you also getting these?
However i see other of other brands are possibly the same making me think its a AMD driver issue. From what ive read its in In a way the card is amazing and has so much power and ability but its let down but these issues it seems ALOT of people are getting with them: I'm not experiencing startup issues, just crashing on 3D apps that push the GPU.
It's either a driver issue or some funky way the new boards themselves talk to the motherboard. I've had rock-solid crashes that the reset button can't even reboot the system with. I guess I should take that as a clue it's some sort of communication issue, it just feels like a hardware issue and not simply a software one as Windows should react in its typical ways-BSOD or driver failing to respond.
Have you tried underclocking the card to MHz to see if that allowed you into games or temporarily resolved the issues? I signed up for HardOCP's forums to try and do a survey of everyone with DC2T issues so I could see if I could find any common denominators to the issues experienced , but I'm still waiting for my activation email. Okay, so I'm in the process of verifying my solution but Disabling overdrive AND switching Windows' power profile to maximum performance seems to have resolved the 3DMark11 crash and ME3 doesn't crash once it gets to the resume menu screen.
I'm going back to do further testing now. Battlefield 3 still crashed. Everything appears to be working. So it may just be that the DMI was still storing information from my previous and that was hosing it. I'm going to keep plugging along and see how that goes. Though I'm now a little concerned it may have been me just tightening the zip ties a little more: Things were going great So, lesson of the day: Lucid Virtu is not ready for playing with the XD.
Faulty SSD driver because of too many blue screens.. Think a new copy of windows on the SSD should fix it. Or it i will need to get it replaced due to being crashed so many times prob wasn't good for it. I have found that i CAN play battlefield 3 fine with no blue screens, only happened when i had more than 1 screen in and when the computer was usually idle or not doing much never in a game. I can have settings on max and run fine. Its like the card works on all those max settings but some slight things keep letting it down.
I do have overdrive ticked in CCC but it wont let me keep unticked. I have set all my power option to MAX and no sleep mode or hibernate or anthing i have also checked the advanced power options to make sure nothing there is doing it. Then re-install, let me know if the Overdrive Panel is not enabled upon re-install.
Also, did you previously have another video card in your rig? Things blew up in my face. Now 3DMark crashes and BF3 crashes just after bringing up the start game screen. I have noticed some odd behavior though with regard to voltages. I tried disabling PowerPlay and disabling all of Windows' power management for PCIe and set the system profile to high performance and still it crashes. I've pulled the XFi to test and disabled monitors.

I have had luck with these drivers http: They work with 3DMark11 reliably, just not Battlefield 3 in my testing so far. I never had any trouble running Linux as my main OS worst part is, windows fails so bad, i wont even boot into Safe Mode without a BSOD to remove the bad drivers or whatever it's causing it to go berserk, it always reboots on classpnp.
If the card is griefing you, try disabling the digital outputs. I'm pushing forward with trying to break things to see if there are any other issues hiding in the bushes The Realtek ones for my onboard sound are compatible it would seem and don't result in a crash.

I know that my card works closer to properly when clocked to MHz, which the DC2 on Newegg is set to. Plus, that card should be a lot less headache than the DC2T. The factory overclocks apparently are just trouble right now. Uhhh, yeah, that's what I meant. I was just meaning to avoid cards like the Sapphire you mentioned and the DC2T because of their factory overclock.
And I've narrowed the issue further I can't run BF3 with Catalyst If the screen is marked as primary, the game will go to hit the campaign resume screen and crash.
If I go to move the game to that monitor and try to launch, crash. As long as I keep things on a side screen, things work.
Swapping the output to the Samsung from different DisplayPort ports or connected straight to DVI doesn't change the outcome-crash. And the Realtek Audio seems to be a world of hurt with this game. I've the same problems, with the same card I want to resolve it because i love this card a lot: Is this a card or a driver issue? There will be the possibility to find a solution to this problems?
Someone with the same symptom! What hardware do you have in your rig and what drivers are you using for your ? I think we have to change our cards: I don't want to return this card: I suggest doing the following that ive tryed 1. Uninstall Full CCC 2. Install Drivers that came with the Card 4. Now with a 4. I would also even suggest to "try" resintalling you bf3 to see if that helps Also when your BF3 does crash do you see anything when you check temps afterwads? Temps are really ok, max is 65 when overclocked. You could check out this site and mainly these drivers i found that are betas GRRRR was working fine Fixed the BF3 crashing issue i think Was crashing everytime i started bf3 My Fix. I can leave it at stock clock of 1GHz as long as I don't play on a x monitor or at least use that setting , BF3 at least cooperates without crashing quickly. There is a tiny switch on the PCB of the card that faces out towards the side panel of your case towards the Crossfire connector, you have to look closely to see it.
Shut your computer down then slide it towards the Crossfire connectors. Crashed my system this morning testing Kerbal Space Program it was a crash e. So it could be power saving after the system sitting idle that helps to break things.

I have tri fire just upgraded from 2 cards have 2 ref Msi and 1 OC msi with rampage IV and x with a raid0 ssd. So to start when I was running two cards at beginning was nightmare then ended up sticking with relase drivers worked great for two months bf3 everything.
Then I decided I'll get another card and two more 27" for eye infinity and has been just not possible BSOd all the time benches and bf3 I'm in middle of this head ache as we Speak. I'll keep u guys posted but ya not the asus cards for sure. Got it home did a full reinstall of computer and drivers to make sure So i Went to post here to update you guys and guess what Got the old blue screen error again GRRR So i took it back to the retailer again and pretty much said i don't want the AMD Series any more as they still haven't sorted the basics on this card.
GPU clock and memory clock stay low when added more screen and the temp wont go up either with more. Avg GPU temp is 35c and can go up to 65c when using the card. But i have set up a fan profile to keep it below 62c which seems to be working great so far.
Have not got into overclocking this card yet but i am much happier now.. I can also stay with ASUS as i wanted. D Only bad side of the card so far.. The ASUS branded sticking they put around the fan area of the card has slightly peeled off and keeps coming back up after i try to get it stick back down again Anyone think a small amount of glue would be ok?
Please let me know how your issues go.. D lol get rid of AMD. Id say its not the card makers as if you read some previous posts if from and AMD card. NOT just a brand As from what other people are also saying about the on other forums its the same no matter what brand So i wouldn't blame the people making the cards as they are made well and work great.
Its AMD software that has let all the cards down. Costs less to the Seem to be doing multi screen gaming fine to me now playing bf3. My Conclusion the company's are making good cards no matter which one you get or they are amazing pieces of hardware and both have huge power to them Wow reading this thread makes me pretty sad, considering i just bought2 of these cards.
I've just built this system: Now i must say i haven't had the problems that i have read in this thread, however i have had issues none-the-less. As i have just built the system i started with just one card installed. Had to hard reboot, not just reset. Haven't had a blue screen yet though. This all started after playing FEAR3 for 8hrs straight.
Can't play Skyrim on it either, it crashes at the end of the intro movie and as i said, crashes within seconds of benching. I have checked every setting in the bios and what not, reseated it yadayadayada to no prevail. Now i have plugged in the second card and it benches just fine, non OC benches minimum Bloody weird or what, i'm thinking DOA but i'm really not sure.
NV run fine whereas everyone seems to be unable to play it. But the first card won't do a thing, i'm glad i didn't Xfire first. I'm a bit of an AMD fan but i think i'll have to agree with Sarg about the 's if they're at least reliable. I'm hoping a moderator or someone could reply to this, i'm stumped. I am now running my cpu at 4. All it comes down to is over-marketing on hardware whilst neglecting the software improving with updates, ffs we want it now all to make a sale now and as we already know, they have already released newer model cards such as the dcu2 TOP which hasn't had many reported dramas especially with drivers and now these cards are kinda redundant, in my opinion at least.

Well after my experience with bf3, just as an experiment i ran the xfired cards at gpu memory with voltage at 1. The temperature went way up to 70 degress celcius on the gpu and 80 degrees on the VRM and the game was just glitchy as hell. Again, the drivers i'd have to say are the culprit here, and again i can't see any other explanation. Well it's been a few days and now i'm having some weird and ridiculous problems Trying to play Oblivion of all games and on a standard install my Xfire setup with these cards is useless and i can't get anymore than 50fps at the best of times.
I have all settings to max and AA turned off in CCC as well as in Oblivion and yet still these cards never cease to amaze me. Oh and did i mention the BSOD!

RMA here i come We contacted ASUS again about the issue, and got a pleasant reply that ASUS is going to fine tune its custom design of its output configuration in future models which should resolve the issue we experienced. We have been internally looking into the issue since you originally reported it. It has been difficult to duplicate as it looks to be sensitivity related and can be even impacted by variance in shielding of the cable and other factors.
We have been able to resolve the issue with different cables. That being noted we have we worked and fine tuned the custom design of our output configuration. HQ is communicating the new design will resolve the issue you are experiencing with the current usage environment and cables you are using now. This new design will be the same one coming in next week. When we get one of these cards we will test it and follow-up with confirmation that it is working fine on these displays.

Just know what to expect if you want to mount a GPU pot to this card. Just know this is a small issue and you might need to perform a slight modification. You have seen the good, the okay and the exceptional. Overclocking this card was a blast. Even before ASUS introduced higher voltage control it had stout results. The cooler is definitely up to the task.
As you can see when pushing the limits above, it is also a great card for competitive overclockers — cooling is your only limitation. It does bear mentioning that GPU Tweak does not have voltage control of the memory. Adding that controller would have delayed getting the card to market and added cost. Versus the GTX Lightning at stock was a stiff competition, with benchmarks and games split right down the middle — each card beat the other five out of ten times.
As we found out, this card is also a great choice for those that want to run an Eyefinity setup. Showing comments of comments. Well, this is really a strange graphic card. I got the waterblock off and all returned back to stock cooling, just like new.
Figured might as well do a quick test, so popped back in the computer and after about a half-hour of testing this thing, I can't get it to crash! What is going on here? Temps worked just as I can remember them working when I first got this card. They can reach mid 70's under extreme load and everything set to max in GPU Tweak. Still, won't crash running all everything that did crash it while it was running on water. The thing I can think is it likes max temps in the 70 not in the high 30's like it does on water.
What else could it be? I guess I should update my sig. Only thing the same is monitors added a 3rd , burner, CPU and ram. I upgraded everything else with the then new DCU2. Best setup I've had todate and works usually very well.
I've had it to 5. It's fun to play with when I take the time. Problem is, time is pretty scarce alot, so I have to almost re-learn stuff when I come back to it for OC'ing or upgrades. Luckily I put all the misc. Unluckily, it too me 4 hours of searching to find where I put them I don't think there will be a difference between the two. It is literally the same GPU. If one has the capability, the other does too unless AMD intentionally differentiates them which I don't think they do.
