But I am one of those people that don't trust anybody and will plaster here my paranoia for all to scrutinize. In Wall Street this is called shorting a stock and is used by big players to manipulate the market. The market manipulation can destroy the confidence and also crush a stock or in this case a coin. This kind of manipulation can come from someone with lots of funds who also believes in the coin and is willing to take it to extremes.
There's no point in looking in detail at Iconic's increasingly bizarre claims. There was never any proof, and, as digicidal pointed out above, none of them made the slightest bit of sense.
Gritt should definitely not have made the comment but I understand why he did so. As you said IE appeared to be helpful, and we initially tried working with him. I asked him to be more reasonable and better manage expectations.
He flipped out at me, like only he can. From then on I know I was a big advocate for distancing ourselves and BC from him as much as possible. As things continued it only became more and more apparent how dangerous he was as an individual. Gritt, seeing the general sentiment, made that post. It was poorly done and perhaps poorly timed, but there was no good way out of the IE situation.
We knew that very early on. There was just no good way out. This is super helpful, especially for those not in the know. Even from my limited perspective it makes total sense. I'm not surprised, but I am far more reassured. Very glad to know iconic was not hired help, or part of the initial conception of BC from the outset.
That was my main concern. Glad to see the leadership isn't as erratic as iconic. Good for him for getting in early. They can do a ton of work, and are legendary at accruing starry eyed followers, but they're absurdly volatile and narrow minded, despite occasional lightning-bolt insight. A mixed bag for sure. Beginning, a coin of innovation that grabbed alot of attention, and built a community of mostly positive thinking, creative people.
It than got pumped heavily, pulling in investors and alot of people that were new to crypto. This lead to alot of happy and angry people. The people that stuck around began building on our new floors. As the ideas grew, and the people began working, a few "leaders" came forth and as per the usual, some people have a hard time sharing. This lead to what seems to now be two communities. The way I see it, two heads are better than one. So we now have to monster heads, both filled with like minded people, all with the common goal of increasing Blackcoins value, and changing its history.
Things with Blackcoin always seem to resolve themselves and move forward. With the amount of ideas and action being taken by so many people, head butting is bound to happen. If nothing more than this, I have greater and greater expectations for BlackCoin's future.
I've seen lesser coins tank in value simply because the dev wasn't available for 24 hours and a small disagreement erupted. BC's ANN thread the first one literally descended to the depths of hell it seemed - and yet the price held and the enthusiasm did as well! No matter how raw everyone's nerves became with each other - BlackCoin was still well worth it for all but a handful involved in the thread - and I'm sure they'll be back because where else are you going to go?
