Did you ever run across this issue? The other temperature stuff will make sure your fan runs to cool down your cards. I used your tutorial and got my rig to work but after powering it down to add a card when i run my minenow script the fans turn on but the whole screen flashes and goes blank and then nothing. I'll do you one better. I setup a pxe server and use the same nfs share for all miners, then I wrote a custom shell script that uses the mac address to figure out what config file to use. Takes up far less space on the hard drive, plus if I want to add a new miner I just boot and copy the cgminer config file and put in the new mac address.
I know this looks hard, but really it isn't it will take about 45 minutes to setup properly, but then you can get rid of all your flash drives and hard drives that you are using to boot your miners now.
I recommend you use Ubuntu To start you need to setup a nfs. Honestly it is easiest to do it on ubuntu I have found: Setup Netboot for ubutu on ubuntu. Couple of things on that tutorial, don't install the amd drivers until after you copy the base image to the server, and you can skip the cdrom0 part, and it doesn't mention it, but you will need to enable pxe boot on your router and point it to your server, google your router model and enable pxeboot.
Once you have that setup install the amd drivers , and download cgminer. Last of all I wrote a script to pick the correct config file based on the mac address of the computer:. I have a server box with 4 hard drives in raid I have like, 10 random computers sitting around that I want to connect to the server box, load and OS and then start mining. I was going to use ESXI 5. Would you maybe be able to give me more information regarding this? I've sort of looked online briefly but some of the stuff I've read is convoluted and confusing.

Yes I use debian on all the machine I own. And no it's not a terminal-based OS but a solid Linux distribution that let you install any desktop environment you want even if you want no desktop environment at all which is perfect for mining rig.
Yep had an emergency at work once and setup a PXE server and turned machines that were in the warehouse into a cluster computer to work through maths. Linux voltage control is the big thing holding everyone off from using it. Since i've only mined on linux, can you explain how undervolting goes differently on Windows?

I just can't stop being reminded of myself when I started mining Bitcoin and realized over three years later that I would have been better off buying the coin with all the money I sunk into mining, and simply holding it. I'd be a billionaire right now. Then again I should have extended that logic to buying gold and silver mining stocks instead of buying more of the actual metal instead. I'd still have been better off buying the metal. So easy to invest when you're buying in the past and selling in the present.
