Is it a single card or two? Should I be worried, I mean, it doesn't seem safe. I don't own that card but I would be worried if it were mine. I don't like mine over 80 degrees. I think it's strange you're seeing those temperatures when it's the lone card like that. I get about and I have the same card.

I blast air over the both of them to keep them at 78 C. But I'll definitely try undervolting. What are your ambient temps in the room? Is your case closed up? How is your airflow? Is this a single fan blower cooler or is it a dual fan cooler? Airflow is open, sitting on my desk with the window open, haha.

The stock fan on the R9 x has dual fans. Thanks for all the help, and I hope this helps anyone else having issues with this damn hot-hot card. I have the same card, undervolted in afterburner to , set gpu-vddc accordingly, but gpu-z and cgminer stats still reporting 1. Hmm, I noticed the temperature drop from eye though after changing it via MSI after burner, so I'm pretty sure its working doesn't jump over 80 C now.

I assume you had to install MSI x Windows drivers? Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy. Since the X is a rebranded , it is possible to undervolt the cards using the VBE7 method that i have outlined in the previous tutorial: My PowerColor cards run completely stable at mV, so if you are using my undervolting method, simply replace the mV that i have recommended with mV.

For this test, i am using BAMT version 1. You may learn more about setting up BAMT in my tutorial: Litecoin BAMT version 1. I will try to spend some time and post the configurations for each and every R9 X i can get my hands on. Any chance you can test it?

You may learn more about setting up BAMT in my tutorial: Litecoin BAMT version 1. For other brands of R9 X, you can try MHz or MHz for the core clock speed as a lot of people are getting good hashrates with that setting. I will try to get the configurations for the MSI and PowerColor cards for you all after i am happy with the output from Gigabyte.

Here is my updated CGMiner configuration for Gigabyte card: All these cards run much cooler after undervolting and MSI need to be flashed to the latest ROM prior to undervolting. I would love to see some settings on the Powercolor cards.

Would need to do more tweaking. Never mined before, but I have 2 Gigabyte R9 X on their way. Do you think I need to replace them? Since i have just built X mining rig, you can learn more on setting up your own mining rig here: Drop me a line here if you need further assistance. I just wanted to see from above you were talking about updating the drivers.

Was that updating the drivers that come with BAMT? I know I can probably just SSH to it, but then its editing the config file name to cgminer. How do you change between coins, are you renaming the cgminer file and just naming the other differently. You can do it easily when you SSH to your rig. Here, you can see your miner progress just like you are sitting in front of the rig.

Then you can do things like, Add Pool, Switch Pool. Hope that helps you. Hi, can you post your cgminer. What card are you using?
